Nana's Puppy Gruel:

In a small saucepan, heat 2 Cups water to boiling; remove from heat, stir in 2 envelopes plain Knox gelatin until dissolved.

In a small bowl, mix two egg yolks with 2 tablespoons white Karo syrup.  Slowly add (1 tablespoon at a time) hot water mixture to temper eggs (about 5 or 6 tablespoons should do it), mixing constantly.  Pour tempered egg mixture back into water and gelatin mixture.
Add 1 can evaporated milk, stir, pour into recloseable container and put in refrigerator.
Ready to feed?  Remove about 1 teaspoon (per puppy feeding), melt in microwave.

Add: 1/3 teaspoon Gerber infant meat (I use either chicken or lamb).  Add 1/2 teaspoon Gerber
infant rice cereal.  Mix together well, reheat to very warm (remember, mom's milk is 103 degrees), and suck into a feeding syringe.  Feed baby ... and watch her go!

Some Yummy Food Tips

Pumpkin cures diarrehha and constipation. Not the PIE Filler. Cook your pumpkins and mash and give to your dogs. All of the veggies in your garden should be fed to your dogs. Raw, shredded or mashed. Do not feed with kibble. Give your veggies, egg yokes, no egg whites, rice, fruits, vegs and including raisins but not all of that at the same time. Mix it good and give twice a week. Then feed your kibble on another day.
It is also a good idea to fast your dogs once a month!!!!!! As in the wild the dogs don't eat every day. If you freeze any meat including pork it kills the tricomonisis and you can give pork. Chop up fine or run through a blender or food processor.. All left over breads are good, cooked brown rice and oatmeal. No pasta of course. Tuna and Sardines for mothers for calcium and protein. No salmon.
The important part is not to mix any of this with kibble, and to give the kibble on separate days. I give my dogs some kind of veg everyday now and add eggs or tuna and have all kinds of canned veg stacked on the shelf for them including sweet potatoes and pumpkin too. Also have been adding the Spirulina which is a wonderful addition so they are really healthy. You can get this at a health food store or order it from a Pet Catalog.  So make different concoctions and give once or twice a week and then the kibble the rest of the week along with one teaspoon of apple cider vinigar per day.
