!!!!   New Decker Dogs Found   !!!!

The NRTA wants to thank Kim Seegmiller for researching and hunting down 100% decker dogs. We all knew they were out there somewhere from long time/old time breeders but no one had been able to locate them in the past. Through ALOT of phone calls and much persistence Kim has accomplished this feat. Tim Brown was extremely helpful in steering Kim in the right direction along with Mike Jones to find these deckerline dogs. Pedigrees were produced proving the correct lines back to the original decker dogs and it has spiraled down to the dogs that our members breed today. So not only were 100% NEW decker dogs found, many of YOUR dogs have increased in percentage.

We also want to thank all the breeders who own these previously unknown lines for sharing their information with Kim so that it could be passed down to all of us. In some cases it was like pulling hair to get the right information but it paid off. Kim, you are one persistent lady.

So now the NRTA has had a huge undertaking to boost up all the percentages on dogs that came down from those lines. There are alot of you members/breeders out there who do not have the correct percentage on your certificates.

Anyone who has dogs coming down the lines from Clarks Duke, Dons Skibeaux, Jones Crunch, Jones Sayle and Jones Skibeaux please contact us by sending back your original NRTR certifcate along with a 5.00 fee for reprinting. If you are not sure if your Deckerline dog has changed percentage, email us with the dogs full registered name so that we can check for you first.

Some of the other dogs that may be recognizable in your pedigrees that would make a change in your percentage are:  Simons Pharoah, Sycamore Flats Spike, Burzs Destiny, Chattertons Sweet Charlotte, Duchess Maggie Mae, Killens Cindy, Kleinschmitz Candy, Mylets Creek Road Claude. At least all these dogs have been found to be verifiable 100% deckers. There are more but these are some of the youngest dogs and are more likely to be seen in a three generation pedigree. So all of the offspring from these dogs have changed percentage and all there off springs offspring. So you can see how it can be a massive undertaking to find and boost them all up.

We are sorry for any inconvience this may be to you but we are just glad that we were able to find this all out. There was indeed as always suspected alot more deckerline dogs out there.

About the Decker Chapter

I am counting on all of you that are interested in the Decker line of dogs to make this Chapter Club a success.
We have  added a section to the NRTA newsletter and one will go up on the site specifically for the deckers. Please send the NRTA or The Decker  Team photos, stories, information or anything else pertaining to the deckerline of Rat Terrier  to be posted in this newsletter. It will be a free membership to anyone who is in the club right now until we can consistently gather enough information each quarter for a separate newsletter. We can discuss a membership fee at that time to cover all printing expenses etc.

But for now, The Decker Club is the same as the NRTA. Same rules, by laws etc just a Chapter Club within the NRTA governed by the NRTA to give some separation to the Decker dogs. So once again it is basically a "space" for the decker Rat Terrier within the NRTA but more clearly deliniated.

We need to keep in mind that they are a real breed of Rat Terrier and that they differ slightly from the Rat Terrier but never forgetting that they are Rat Terriers just the same. Just a different line that Mr Decker worked so hard to lock traits into. So with a lot of hard work on all our parts, lets try to breed the best Deckers ever and keep them in existence for a long long time.

Now for some shots of those lovely deckers……………………………
